This section is devoted to the situations in and around a tackle. Contact differs from tackling as follows:
Tackling: Defensive tool to stop attacker from progressing down the field
Contact: Maintaining/gaining possession following a tackle, i.e. ruck, maul, etc.
The drills in this section address controlling the contact situation, controlled placement of the ball by the ball carrier, and clean presentation of the ball to the half back.
The above principles remain the same even though the techniques may differ.
