2 v 2 Unders
To attack a 2 v 2 situation, the attackers must CREATE space by their movements. The attackers can force the defenders to follow their movement since they have the ball. Good attackers (whether with or without the ball) know this and will use it to their advantage in creating space to attack. The movements in the Unders movement creates space between the defenders allowing the support runner to attack Underneath his/her defender.
Key Points to CREATING space to attack:
Both ball carrier and support runner move BEFORE the delivery of the ball; in the graphic to the right, ball carrier moves to the inside shoulder of his/her defender while the support runner runs to the outside shoulder of his/her defender. Defenders follow their respective mark (if they don't simply execute an Overs movement) resulting in space between the defenders.
Support runner CUTS and accelerates into the space created.
Ball carrier delivers crisp sharp pass into space for support runner to run onto.
